Pros

Despite my negative experience with my direct supervisor, there were some positives to working at GM Blue Plan. The company invested in team-building activities, and the work involved interesting projects.

Cons

During my brief tenure at GM Blue Plan, I observed a pattern of aggressive and demeaning behaviour by the CAD manager towards junior staff and some project managers. This created a difficult work environment that had a negative impact on employee morale and productivity. Despite the company's team-building efforts, she created a barrier that prevented effective collaboration among team members. Her “management style “ was characterized by frequent outbursts and belittling comments, which many employees perceived as emotionally abusive. This resulted in a high turnover rate, evidenced by the number of employees, including myself, who left the company due to her actions. When the issue was raised it was met with hostility followed by defensive and silence treatment. She failed to recognize that assertiveness does not equate to aggression and that a positive work environment is essential for employee retention and productivity.

Pros

Very good working culture (teamwork, friendliness, management is very open to support to pursue your interests, considering the size, goals, and vision of the company, there are many leadership opportunities to pursue) Flat (as opposed to hierarchical) A wide range of opportunities when it comes to pool of "Environmental Engineering" skill-set. Various offices, each being strong in a certain niche market.

Cons

If you're considering to join the firm, then you need to know the type of projects you're seeking to pursue. Like every other consulting, the business focus is on certain client and certain type of work. Before joining, interview a number of employees to learn more about the projects and opportunities to make sure they match your interest.
