Pros
Down to earth work atmosphere and coworkers. Jobs at GAINSCO tend to require you to do many varied things so it keeps things interesting. Benefits are pretty good, but not great. Management is understanding that people have a life outside of GAINSCO (but still put people in situations where they are having to do the job of multiple poeple)
Cons
GAINSCO has wasted a lot of its money on IT projects that are poorly managed and underfunded. They want digital transformation, but keep cutting corners so the improvements that we get from new systems are always cancelled out by other problems. Executive leadership for field sales seems to lack experience. Sales people get performance bonuses regardless of profitability, but if company profitability is low then other job positions don't get a bonus at all.
