If you're in the right department and know the right senior management, it's an easy place to hide and get paid obscenely for doing very little. Due to the company's culture, it's also a great training ground for learning office politics.

It's a deeply political work environment with limited opportunity for advancement beyond the role you're hired for. If you're not prepared, well-equipped, and excited by the opportunity to knife-fight politically you will not do well here.
