Pros
- The students are the best part of this job. It is a pleasure to help them develop their language and positively impact their lives. - Learning model is innovative and aims to be accessible for learners who don't have previous experience
Cons
Constantly changing expectations for instructors. Management expects a level of devotion and dedication that is unrealistic for a part-time role, while stringing along employees with empty promises of future promotions. It used to be a lot better when instructors were given adequate time to prepare classes. Now it seems as though management is more concerned with penny pinching than they are with delivering meaningful, quality language classes (especially with the transition to a 2 Day model). Of course, they are unreceptive to constructive criticism, and anything other than "toxic positivity" is usually shot down immediately. No wonder there is such a high turnover for instructors and other staff. Also, the learning model can often seem convoluted to students
