Pros
Interested in staff welfare, there are various systems whereby you can voice concerns etc. Genuinely care about the guests and they promote and reward intuitive service. Financial rewards if you consistently perform well. They offer friends and family discounts for accommodation and encourage staff to familiarise themselves with other properties.
Cons
Mountains of confusing and unnecessary paperwork! Triplicate books, things that need several copies and no real purpose. Miscellaneous Charge Vouchers are a joke! Management is a bit fractured with less autonomy awarded than is perhaps useful. Certain departments are inexplicably unable to access certain aspects of our centralised system resulting in too many people being involved in each transaction/reservation. i.e the admin side of the company is laborious and VERY confusing. Lacking focused training. As winners of investors in people I would have expected them to offer or assist with staff training over and above the mandatory governmental courses. Sometimes they can lack transparency, but I cannot be sure whether that is company wide or just a local failing.
