Pros

Some of the staff are incredibly dedicated and knowledgeable, trying to keep things afloat despite significant challenges. Learning opportunities exist, but they come at a high personal cost.

Cons

The San Francisco office is greatly suffering due to the poor leadership of its managing partner. He is unable to make decisions that benefit the firm as a whole, and his mismanagement has left employees at all levels burnt out, overworked, and unappreciated. It’s clear that all he cares about is himself and the money he makes for himself, not the well-being of his employees or clients, which he is vocal about and he wants some accounts to fail. He really needs to be let go, his presence hurts the Firm as a whole. The managing partner frequently makes empty promises and consistently fails to deliver on them. Confidentiality is not respected, and the lack of care for employees and clients has led to a toxic environment. It’s shocking that he is still in his position given the negative impact he’s had on Fragomen’s reputation. Many of us feel undervalued and have lost motivation to continue here. The firm deserves better leadership if it ever hopes to improve.

Pros

Decent overtime pay. I also had a decent training/onboarding experience, but this was not the norm.

Cons

Exploitative, 80+ hour work weeks, 2am messages from attorneys, burn-out model for paralegals and associates (scoop them up after BA or JD and overwork them until they quit), misrepresent case load during interview by 50% of total, low ceiling for non-attorney career advancement. Have an exit plan.
