Nice people and offices, but don’t expect much progression - Marketing Manager Fortus Employee Review

Pros

The people are genuinely lovely and easy to work with, which makes the day-to-day enjoyable. The offices are modern and a nice place to be, and there’s a friendly atmosphere across the team. The role itself is varied, so you’ll get exposure to different areas of the business.

Cons

A lot of big promises were made around progression, opportunities, pay increases, and recognition, but unfortunately these didn’t materialise during my time there. When the time came for pay discussions or acknowledgment of work, things often changed or didn’t happen. There’s also an expectation to carry team members who don’t perform, and to take on additional roles within the business without recognition or remuneration. Combined with a lack of clear leadership or direction, this can make it frustrating if you’re looking for progression, development, or acknowledgment.

Pros

The firm has a genuinely supportive and collaborative culture, with approachable leadership and a strong sense of teamwork. There is a well-established client base, providing good exposure to a variety of businesses and allowing managers to build meaningful client relationships. People are trusted with responsibility, which creates good opportunities for development and progression. There’s also a clear sense that the firm is moving forward, particularly in its focus on improving systems and expanding advisory services.

Cons

As with many firms that have grown through acquisition, there are still some legacy systems and processes which can impact efficiency at times. However, there is ongoing investment and a clear intention to address this.
