Pros

Some coworkers that are invested in psychiatric patient care. Helping people who need someone to support them.

Cons

Minimal support from supervisors, poor pay, accepting high medical or psychiatric accuity without the training or resources to care for them, many many assaults from patients towards staff and other patients. Coworkers that are literally horrible and make you wonder how they got a nurses license and why they are never fired. Same with some mental health workers, they literally hire anyone. Plumbing there is bad, biohazard. Most of the units are dirty and smell really bad constantly, upper management trying to fill beds with the worst of the worst patient with no regard for other patient's or staff safety. I could go on and on.... there's literally tons of cons.

Pros

Some committed, dedicated, and caring staff.

Cons

1.) CEO is verbally abusive and intentionally divides team members and creates problems. If the leadership team is united and strong, Mike Nanzer is not the self-proclaimed “expert” on all things. Zero decisions can be made without CEO approval. I mean zero. He thrives in toxicity. 2.) Corporate is aware of many issues with truly unethical and illegal practices and there are zero consequences despite multiple corporate compliance and HR complaints from countless parties corroborating these issues. 3.) HR and CEO have an inappropriate relationship. Do not expect anything to remain confidential if you seek guidance from HR. 4.) FVH requires its leaders to work 24/7, with zero regard for work-life balance. There is zero additional compensation. There is zero leadership development or training. There is zero support or common sense problem solving. Things that have been problems for years will continue to be problems for years due to lack of follow through/support from CEO and higher. 5.) The people who advocate for staff-safety, improved patient care, policy changes, actual mental health treatment, professionalism, kindness, respect, etc. are alienated, bullied, and eventually leave. 6,) This company, like all UHS facilities, 100% values profit over people (patients and staff). They use patients & admit inappropriately just to fill a bed. Leadership is rewarded by meeting bed quotas only. Don’t be fooled. Profit is the only concern.
