Pros

I agree with earlier reviews that this lab is a great place to form strong bonds with your fellow coworkers, including management. But don't get me wrong, this establishment is still a place of work. In my experience at this lab, those who are willing to be flexible, adaptable, and have a desire to work as a team for something greater than themselves will be rewarded. Training in multiple areas is constant regardless if you notice it or not. Though some people feel that their training has become stagnant, they are actually gaining valuable experience and finding ways to become more efficient in that area. After you have proven that you have earned a promotion, it is granted rather quickly. I have seen those who have had a willingness to learn, be patient, work as a team, and have a good attitude be rewarded. Everyone is hating on our management team but they don't realize that management are people too. They are trying to accomplish the same job as everyone else with more responsibilities and people to answer to. I have truly seen the effort that management goes to make sure people's requests are granted. Too many people think that management is screwing them when in fact they have the task of trying to figure out a way to make it work for everyone. In the end, this place allows one to build their resume for future jobs by gaining experience by working as a team, following lab procedures and protocol, and acting professionally.

Cons

Back to the title, this job is great for adults. I have worked with a fair of share of professionally immature people. I feel other's entitlement when I hear them complain about a shift they have to work, a job someone told them to do, and about management. Be an adult and get over it. Instead of being passive aggressive about your issues, talk to management and work it out like adults. Admittedly, the pay isn't the best but how many jobs can you start at $10+ with little to no experience? Not many, especially here where the minimum wage is still $7.25. In order to stay operational 24/7, shift work is required. Yes, that means at times you may have to work overnights, early in the morning, during the day, and later in the day. Yeah, the schedule isn't perfect but asking management to accommodate everyone's wishes is impossible. This lab is full of people who are unwilling to adapt and be flexible when they are required to work a shift that "sucks". I believe everyone at this lab suffers from the Dunning-Kruger effect. Work with management to solve your issues and don't cry when you don't get your way. This a company and their bottom line to provide a service and not be a daycare. If you're unhappy, take a step back and reevaluate what you're doing here. No one is forcing you to be unhappy or stay.

Pros

Some growth opportunities available depending on location / current lab needs.

Cons

Since it’s part of certified group, upper management does not understand the individual needs of each lab enough to effectively run things. Mandatory overtime at most locations. Not a lot of explanation of how to do certain things or why they are done. Poor wages and terrible health insurance.
