Great Teams, Great Agency - Junior Account Manager Fluid Advertising Employee Review

Pros

I started my career at Fluid Advertising and I wouldn't trade my experiences for anything. The biggest takeaways from Fluid are the strength of the teams and the opportunities to learn and grow as an employee. Personally, I never ran into major complications with other departments, but if there were bumps in the road, they were worked out. Coworkers were willing to help and accomplish the task at hand. The opportunities for someone just starting out in the industry are incredible (also true for those who are seasoned in their careers). The management and senior level employees are outstanding and will help you become a stronger asset for the agency.

Cons

Processes need to be ironed out and followed better. But I've heard improvements are being made!

Pros

I made some very good friends at Fluid and learned a lot. There are times where the management can be compassionate and helpful in your career.

Cons

When brought on as a new employee to Fluid you see a company focused on culture, work life balance, and a "passion for growth". This is what Fluid aspires to be, but it has a long way to go. This is a highly patriarchal environment that does not promote diversity. The staff may be diverse however it does not translate into the company culture. Unconscious bias relating to race and gender is the biggest problem I saw during my time at Fluid. When problems were brought to upper management they were ignored or "changes" would be made, that did not fix the problem or prevent it from happening again. The hardest working employees are not valued, and the gregarious problem causing employees are held with kid gloves. Overall, it is a toxic environment from a social standpoint. Employees are paid well under the industry standard, likely due to #1 poor business practices that affect revenue #2 salaries based on race and gender. This is not an EOE. PTO/Sick time/ Paternity leave is extremely lacking. Employees are under a scrutinizing eye when they come in and leave, leading to resentment and demotivation. Turnover is very high due to all of these reasons.
