Pros

Four weeks of paid vacation up front, great health benefits, good practical experience for attorneys fresh out of law school

Cons

This office has very, very high turnover for a reason. You're expected to drink the Koolaid that the police and prosecutors are always right and argue cases with (sometimes) grave constitutional errors without questioning that decision. No autonomy or judgment in the briefs you write at all. Plenty of nepotism and only office favorites receive promotions or recognition. Expect to frequently hear outright bigoted opinions against feminists, minorities, and the LGBTQIA community from those in charge. There is also unequal pay between female and male attorneys with men of comparable accomplishment obviously making more than their female counterparts. If you make waves about any of this, they will start laying groundwork to dismiss you. Any complaints about sent to HR go unheard. If you're good at your job, they won't make it easy for you to get a new job. Also, raises are few and far between in general. Finally, if you work hard to get briefs out before the deadlines, you'll be rewarded with more briefs with a shorter turnaround.
