Pros
I have only experienced the environment at Fleet Feet in West Hartford and can only comment on that. I'll preface by saying this was one of few times I've been sad leaving a job. -The skills you can develop here are wide ranging depending how much of yourself you devote to the store. -Coworkers have all been amazing, a true team environment. Being at work is actually fun. -Lots of free clothes and shoes, 30% off in-store, access to 45%+ discounts through online. -Hardwork never goes unnoticed. -You will become personally invested in the store, and in changing people's lives through the items we sell. -Last but not least...the owners. Steph and Carrie work hard to put employees first, and you really feel valued here. They are always positive, and value employee feedback. They have both taught me so much and put a lot of faith in me to grow my business skills, basically tailoring the position I moved into around what I wanted to learn. They both know how to run a business, and they sure do it well. Learn from them!
Cons
This job requires an outgoing personality and people skills. This is not really a con and should be expected. My people skills are 10x better than when I started.
