Pros

Decent pay. Locations closed on Saturdays.

Cons

It seems like First Citizens Bank has little regard for how it treats its employees, specifically the lower positions. If you are a FSR or teller, you will have very little say in what goes on in the company. While you are required to actively seek out business through cold calls, don't expect any type of commission or credit when the loan officer gets the glory. The kind of person who can succeed at First Citizens Bank is somebody who doesn't mind being a brown noser that keeps their opinions to themselves. The company has interesting ideas on what makes for great management material. Example: An overbearing micro-manager that implements ridiculous rules regarding dress code, attitude, even dictates what food is allowed to remain in the break room. If that is the kind of person First Citizens Bank feels is "management material", it speaks very loudly of the organization. While working at First Citizens Bank, I honestly felt like it was more of a regime than an organization. A lot of behind closed doors gossip, lies, and poor management. If you are working at First Citizens with the hope of moving up the ladder, don't expect much. While they may humor you with the obligatory interview, they will most likely have somebody else lined up for the position. Other than that, the benefits were severely lacking. The HR department does not seem to be very knowledgeable, even about basic subjects such as maternity leave. The health insurance offered is pretty mediocre as well.
