Poor communication between and within departments. Cliques abound. Double standards were prolific. There was no room for a life outside of work when employed at FCC. You can tell management about this issue til you're blue in the face, but the fact of the matter is that they were/are grossly understaffed. Plus, there seems to be an antiquated belief that ungodly hours are the name of the culinary game. Stop perpetuating the fallacy that is "the grind". Furthermore, if you were good at your job, you were expected to pick up the slack of less industrious employees. "Don't point fingers". I'm sorry, but if someone is derelict in their duties and are ultimately detrimental to the success of the enterprise then swift corrective action needs to take place. Otherwise you set a standard of mediocrity with no true incentive to excel. The turnover rate was exhausting. More time was spent onboarding new staff than actual training; just to have them quit a few weeks later. How you're treated and spoken to depends on whether or not you do the appropriate amount of obeisance. Truth only mattered as long as it fit in the approved narrative and didn't upset the proverbial apple cart.
