Pros
Benefits are great: good healthcare plan, they can fly you to the New Zealand office to attend parties, free drinks and snacks in-office, and free lunch for NZ staff on Fridays. Can play table tennis in-office. Gym discount offered to NZ staff.
Cons
Takes you a while to see their true colours. If they like you, your career is prioritised (more development options presented earlier on in your tenure), and you get moved up and have your work exposed to the rest of the company more. If they don't, you get very stale career progression options. There is a clique that acts like a special group that is not friendly or inclusive. The diversity is very much lacking, lots of euro-centric ethnicities but not much of anything else. Not much support or perks for team members employed outside of New Zealand. People get a talking-to when they rate their weekly experience in the company lower than usual which is counter-productive to getting feedback. This makes it so that nobody wants to speak up.
