Pros
Varied clients, great environment if you love meeting people and connecting with them, each day can be different depending on who you support, opportunities to work in the animals team (dogs on site!), EAP access, great person centered organisation values, some opportunity to move up to team coordinator roles or lead senior support workers, end of day group debrief to discuss the day (approx 15 mins), salary sacrifice available, free St Johns first aid and CPR course (off site), 1 shadow shift when you start, arvo finish (8.45 - 3.30), opportunities for half day supports
Cons
Only 1 shadow shift, low pay, no clear pathway for career development, you dont often know who you are supporting until the morning of your shift (can be hard to prepare in 15 mins before clients arrive), exhausting work, often don't get a lunch break, high turnover of staff (many staff work while they study and then move on)
