Pros
I've worked with the same group of people for over 10 years now. Part of that time was with a previous company that was acquired by Fidelis Cybersecurity, but I've been employed by Fidelis for over 6 years. I've stayed with this company for so long because I like the people I work with and I like working on the software we create. The work we do is interesting and challenging. The software we create is important and it always feels like I'm working on something that matters. I have felt very little interest in looking at other jobs because nothing seems like it would be as interesting as my job with Fidelis. I like the people that I work with. Everyone I've worked with has always been respectful and professional. We are a global company that sells to a global market, and we have major offices in the Bay area, Utah, Maryland, and Israel. I don't spend much time working with people outside of the Utah office, but it's always been a good experience when I do. I've worked long hours here and there, but the company has never put us on a "death march". I've also never had scheduled vacation denied or canceled. They are very good about encouraging us to take time off so that we can stay refreshed to do our best work.
Cons
When I first started working for Fidelis about 6 years ago, it was owned by a venture capital group. I didn't like the way that group managed the company. It always felt like they were focused on the near future and looking for a quick flip to turn a big profit. Ownership changed hands about 2 years ago and has been much better since then. We are a global company and sell to a global market which means that we have to provide support in just about every time zone. Occasionally, support escalates to engineering, which means we occasionally have to join a support call early in the morning or late at night.
