Pros
They have great resources for veterans.
Cons
Oh boy. Where do I even begin? In case you haven't noticed, the greatest issue with this institution across the board is communication. It's very much a "Do as I say, not as I do" environment, where higher-ups are allowed to exercise poor communication, but if you're below them (or God willing, a poor adjunct), and you slip with miscommunication, you're considered an ineffective cog in already jerry-rigged machine. Perhaps if FTCC focused less on excessively advertising food truck schedules every. single. day., and more on implementing a proper administrative infrastructure, people would like them more. But until then, Fayetteville Technical Community College is doomed to mediocrity. It's also a highly, highly political environment. I don't mean "Republican/Democrat"--I mean, you should be prepared to be backstabbed. It's nearly impossible to grow in this organization. I'm aware internal bureaucratic politics is the norm in colleges, but FTCC takes a step further. Except sneakiness and fakeness around every corner. It's a shame. One would think students would be a top priority. But who needs structure and effective pedagogy when the food truck will be selling lackluster slop tomorrow? :-)
