Pros

Faith based organization that really has their program together and does great service in the community eliminating homelessness and aiding the poverty alleviation initiative in North Carolina. The people are a joy to work with and very honorable. The less fortunate and community they serve are treated like family and actually by Policy called "Family" members promoting an environment of sharing and caring where the human touch is put back into trying to help out your fellow man (and woman). The employees are all like a close knit family with many people who resign to move on in their careers continuing as volunteers for a lifetime and staying on roster as "on call" employees and volunteers in the event they are free to cover hours when current full time or part time employees are unavailable.

Cons

Like many 501(c)(3) there are budget limitations and a need for a sustainability piece (project) or two to keep funding levels in high margins. However, there may be a right to claim the difference between what one would be paid in the private sector and what one is paid in a 501(c)(3) on taxes and have the difference treated as a donation for which there might be a right of offset against taxes and/or a tax rebate check (refund).
