Pros
Relatively stable work environment, and relaxed atmosphere. The company looks great in the beginning. They host lots of events and contests in the office. You can come and go as you please, most of the time, and people tend not to notice. If you do the bare minimum and don't speak up, no one will bother you.
Cons
Upper management claims to be working on improving culture. In reality, they are perpetuating the favoritism and biased culture that is running rampant, in all departments. Opinions are king at Fabri-Kal, facts and logic don't seem to matter. If you want to get ahead, tell the right people what they want to hear, even if you don't intent to (or know how to) achieve the goal . If you're a smooth talker, or the bosses pet, the next promotion is yours. People that work hard completing projects and get to the bottom of problems often meet with disagreement and criticism in open forums if they challenge managers or peers ideas. Facts and data presented with be disagreed with and ignored, and the managers gut feeling will be the deciding factor. If you want something to happen, you have to make it the right persons idea. It's can't be your idea. There is no accountability. People can complete their assignments and flat out miss the objectives, and subsequently blame all the issues that arise after implementation on others. Several managers allow it, for what seem to be a variety of reasons. The truth of their employees actions would reflect negatively on them, the person is favored and can do no wrong, or they aren't involved enough to know any better. In this environment, even the good people quit caring and just do the bare minimum, or leave because they realize effort and accomplishment are not valued.
