Pros

Exactly Nothing. From a Nothing.

Cons

"Editor and Chief" uses "employees" for free labor. No direction, no training and no experienced leadership.

Pros

I see all of the raving reviews that discredit Sandra as a professional. A lot of these reviews are based off of your personal feelings and not the true fact that she is well connected. She does have contacts that could lead to bigger opportunities. Sadly, the fashion industry is full of mentally deranged individuals, but their talent speaks for themselves. Sandra the editor in chief is not abusive she’s just blunt. A lot of interns seek validation, and come to the company with zero experience. She’s opening a door for you to gain not only exposure but FREE knowledge. LA, & NY are both seemingly competitive environments within the fashion world. You’ll get eaten alive if you’re complaining about a virtual internship that serves to build YOU. I think we can all see the difference between the hard workers who know how to swim versus the weak minded interns who sunk.

Cons

Time zone difference can be challenging but nevertheless it’s manageable.

Pros

N/A. With the exception of a few, kind on boarding staff and another intern I was able to bond with, there was truly nothing positive that came about this experience.

Cons

What I thought was going to be a fruitful fashion editing opportunity turned out to be the complete opposite. Was expected to do a TON of research regarding fashion weeks, latest trends, and what celebrities were currently wearing, all for no pay. The EIC, Sandra, is unprofessional, rude, and does not know the boundary between personal and professional. I once was on a call with her for TWO hours where she proceeded to attempt to give me critiques that came off as insults, complain about her AirBnb, and went off on random tangents of her fashion career. Her way with words especially left a certain sting to the point that I was in tears at times, something I am surprised it got to the level of. Also, she trash talked about me to another intern (one who I happened to become friends with as well) regarding my fashion knowledge and overall work ethic. As someone who has come a long way in their fashion career since then (I worked at FV in 2020) and has built up quite the resume, I just want to warn others out there of the potential consequences of interning at FV.
