Pros
Serving on contract as a public servant is always fulfilling if that is your cup of tea. The work is typically straight forward and not challenging if you are willing to do the work. Also peers and your team tend to be great to work along side.
Cons
They can be very disorganized from onboarding to management to communication. You have to stay on them for your own sake. The benefits that they have offer have gotten better but could be better.
