Pros

Fast culture, carries a lot of the competitive allure of startups (only startup I worked for that had the energy of a startup), cool and young staff worth socializing with outside work. They handed out free $500 tickets for a grand prix event. My direct manager was cool.

Cons

Internally, they were struggling with a "frat house culture". Most of their direction gets decided on during smoke breaks. The management said some negative things about the town the company is based out of. The pay was pitifully under-market (I took the job in a hurry). They laid me off right before the holidays without severance after I worked a 60 hour week. I considered suing them, and when I voiced my frustrations, they threatened me right back with their legal team. They recruit a lot of kids without college degrees. The managers are very transparent about picking favorites. My hiring manager tried to convince me on the interview there were justifications for "the sith" and he seemed just fine to live out that motif.

Pros

Fast paced startup culture, Getting to see multiple projects to completion, Interns do real work, Great coworkers Lots to learn from interning here.

Cons

Mentors often busy and guidance is sometimes insufficient. Lots of independent learning required, which can be stressful. Internship doesn't pay that great given the competition, but that's expected of a startup.
