Pros

Pay and Benefits are excellent.

Cons

'Red Tape' and 'Red Book' are equally bureaucratic. The company is so bent up on Security and Controls they lose sight of the things that matter e.g., getting software that they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars deployed before the software is end of life (EOL or SOL). There isn't anything wrong with being focused on Security and Controls - just need to focus more energy on 'time to market'. And, from an IT perspective, IT considers itself a 'Service Company' i.e., ExxonMobil IT (EMIT), that doesn't understand the first thing about being a 'service'. They tell the business what 'they have on the shelf' and that 'this is what we have' and we will not engineer a solution to meet your needs if what we have does not work. In turn, the business has been left with a very sour taste in their mouths year after year. Where is the 'service' in the 'Service Company'?

Great people and culture - Everyone is nice and wants to do good work.

Cons

Lots of security and locked down tech and hard to find what's available.

Pros

Good pay and a pension

Cons

Everything else. Benefits are lackluster, Flex Your Day policies are elusive. The company changes everything all the time so that a large portion of your time is spent finding new links to things on the portal, figuring out who to contact in various departments and in what country just to get a simple answer to a question. No one stays in the same role long enough to get good at their job. Morale is terrible.
