Pros
It's a lot of fun driving around on the gold cart, depending on the location sometimes you'll be on the cart most of the day just cleaning the property. Hearing about peoples lives and why they're storing with us is interesting, and it's also fun putting units up for auction. You get every Sunday off because the store is closed which is very cool, and days you need to call in you only have to give a 2 hour notice which is nice. You don't constantly have people in your face with problems, most problems can be answered over the phone and people prefer to call. You get compensated for driving extra miles daily like going to the bank or another store. They offer benefits and 401k after just three months. They're a very inclusive company and set up teams groups for all minorities so that you never feel alone, you can choose to join into those groups or not at all.
Cons
You have to be out on the property on very hot days- You have to clean units by hand the day that they move out, so if it's 100 degrees outside or if it's windy it gets pretty intense. You don't really know when your second day off will be week to week. Sometimes you work alone and you get a little swamped with all the things you need to do in a singular day. It's hard to explain to some people why their rate goes up and/or the amount of the increase, some people get hostile because it's their money. There are also tenants that go into auction almost every time they pay current and they're usually very hostile people too because they don't want to be called about their delinquency because it's a regular thing for them and they don't want calls every week.
