Pros
You can do the work at home.
Cons
- Incredibly tight deadlines - Rude manager. She doesn't care if she is rude either. - Constructive criticism not welcome - Lack of centralization for resources, references, and documentation - Required to pay for training (even if it is discounted) - Training that is freely available is all self-paced, but difficult to get through - Training must be done on your own time and is never paid - Documentation is inconsistent and at times outdated (outdated things need to be removed) - Pay is extremely inconsistent and nowhere near a workable wage (the client may pay $300 for a project while the writer makes maybe $20) - CEO touts only top 2% of writers make the cut, but truly, Express Writers is little more than a content mill. Avoid working here - it's not worth the headache or stress.
