Pros
Cases can be quite interesting. Good networking opportunities.
Cons
Small business that tries to sell itself as a premier consulting firm. Long list of issues that stem from extremely poor leadership, management and direction from a young/inexperienced CEO who constantly micromanages staff whilst struggling to make decisions. Some of the main issues: - High workload/pressure with little support offered from management - Toxic culture caused by management bad mouthing staff members to other staff members (often due to them being new and not yet understanding) - Limited career progression - Work/life balance is terrible with staff expected to answer to every clients whim outside of hours (admittedly, this seems to be the legal industry in general) - Empowered to work autonomously but then work is heavily scrutinised daily, often being asked to justify the decisions you've made - Lack of clear reporting pathways means that your having 'development' and 'training' conversations with different people daily. Outcomes of said meetings are never followed through on. - Management extremely indecisive meaning goalposts are forever changing. Mixed messages are also constantly sent to staff. - Blatant favouritism of certain staff members based on factors other than merit.
