Pros

Too many to count, but here we go: Management: EA's middle and upper management is mostly internally promoted. I worked on two teams in the company and both of my managers were incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. With a solid understanding of the nature of the work they are able to quickly understand problems that get escalated to them as well as maintaining an open mind for new and innovative ways of solving problems. The top level management has good vision on where the industry is heading and how EA will be part of that future. The president, Jan Kestle, is a natural, innovative and transparent leader. She regularly shares the health of the business with the entire staff and treats her employees more like shareholders or even family. Turnover: I've been with the company for 5 great years. When I joined there were about 60 staff, and now, I think there's over 200. There's been a ton of growth and I feel like I can use my fingers to count the number of people who left. Mobility: If you join a team within the company, but later feel like you'd like to try something new, EA will do it's best to help you make that transition. They support internal growth and encourage internal transfers and promotions. Office space: The office itself is well located (Yonge and Bloor) and is recently renovated. The open-concept work places are great for working collaboratively. I hope you like purple! Fun: If you have a social streak, there's a lot to do at EA. Beyond the beer keg for Fridays, there is an active social committee that celebrates major life milestones for staff members and organizes company wide outings throughout the year. You can get to know the staff at events like; the summer party, the winter party, the EA user conference and organized charity events. People: For me, the best part of EA was the people. EA's staff is friendly, welcoming and supportive and made me want to come into work every morning. Other perks: -Bonus week off at Christmas/New Years -Bonus long weekends in summer -Beer keg for Fridays -Coffee machine thing

Cons

Overtime: I personally didn't have many issues with this, but overtime can be an issue at times. Upper management is actively trying to resolve workload issues, but some parts of the organization still have issues with it. When it does become an issue, my managers usually bring in extra help and/or provide time in lieu. I feel EA still handles overtime much better than the industry standard.

Pros

EA to ales great care to hire smart people who come from a diverse range of backgrounds and life stages. This is a big reason why I love the company. It’s not like some places that are filled with a homogenous cohort of people like millennial or baby boomers etc. This diversity sets the environment for creativity, collaboration and open-mindedness. Employees tend to be down to earth and humble; egos are checked at the door. In a company filled with smart people you are not better than the person you’re sitting next to.

Cons

Because of EA’s meteoric growth over the past few years, organizational processes have not adapted as quickly. This can be seen right through the company from upper management right down to department heads. They continue to have a ‘small-company’ mentality which is taking some time to break out of.
