Pros

The pay and benefits make Electromech a standout among other local employers and it is a good space to grow your career. Transdigm in general has a cut throat reputation so it is also a good addition to the resume as well. I found the work environment on the non leadership level to be very friendly but management/upper management were hit or miss depending on the department. If you build a good reputation for yourself and work hard, you can succeed there but the second you become a loose end, they will not hesitate to let you go.

Cons

The turnover is incredibly high mostly due to the level of expectation management places on their employees to perform. If you fall short, you will be placed on an improvement plan and it will be your death sentence. I haven’t seen anybody come back from that personally. I would really recommend to look elsewhere if you are not a high achiever and not able to commit north of 45 hour weeks on a regular basis. It’s important for them to keep their headcount low so the employees have a large workload all the time. It’s not impossible, but it is not for the person that’s trying to skate by. Basically if you are not the top achiever in your department, you will be at risk. There were management choices which were red flags at best that I observed with my time there. Firstly, nothing is ever confidential. HR is one person and this person likes to gossip. So beware of that. There are also employees that are hired based only off of referral from management with little to no industry experience that seem to be favoritized in the company. I have extensive experience in my role so that was a tough pill to swallow on a daily basis. They’re not especially good at their jobs but probably won’t be fired because of their personal relationships with management. I would say there are a select few managers who are actually good leaders with equally good intentions and the ones that are not great managers, seem to fail because they’re over worked themselves. Sales especially is a dumpster fire but they won’t hire new heads to help alleviate that. That leads to upper management at the VP level and this is a whole other story. Ethics, intention, and self conduct are all questionable. I’ve observed them yell at previous managers, complain about people not working enough (despite many employees in the office coming in and leaving before they do themselves), trash talk one another, and make pointed passive aggressive announcements in team meetings that come across inappropriate and unprofessional. You need to have thick skin and a good head on your shoulders if you have any chance of climbing up in ranks. It’s extremely political and the boys club is very very real. Proceed with caution. All in all if you can handle the intense work environment and the hours it requires to survive, it might be for you. The pay is very competitive but not worth it if you have a family you actually want to spend time with.

Pros

I have learned so much about the aerospace industry since I have worked here. Its a very busy, fast paced organization but I really like that because the day goes by so fast. I love my team and we are very supportive of one another.

Cons

I wish they had remote opportunities.
