Pros

The company has nice equipment.

Cons

This company is a living joke. The employer has no idea how to run a company according to the Canadian standard and has so idea what is augmented reality and virtual reality, yet he believes that he masters the knowledge and understanding. Very stressful atmosphere and so are all employees working there. Employer would allow himself to yell at employees at anytime of the day depending on his mood or because he absolutely has no idea what is marketing/ social media/ Ar Vr. He is actually wasting government funding on AR/VR project that is going no where. People that sticks working there are people who do not have elsewhere to go and employer does know this and that is why he allows himself to treat employees like dogs. Run from this company.

Pros

In the unlikely event that you get your own room, the office is quiet and conducive to work. Otherwise, bring ear plugs. For most of my employment, there was satisfactory hardware and software.

Cons

The abridged version : the CEO of this company is a delusional narcissist and you will suffer under his rule. 1. The CEO: I started out as an intern, and from day one it was bad (I wonder now how I managed to grind it out for almost a year). The other reviews are being generous by calling the boss "delusional" and "arrogant"; if it weren't for the community guidelines, I'd use much worse language. This is a person who cannot take constructive criticism or suggestions from people with education and experience in the field, interpreting your questions as an attack against his obviously superior intellect. He is not only the worst boss - he is the worst person I have ever met. Beyond the daily disrespect and harassment, he has done things like try to make a coworker make another one leave, outsource a loyal employee’s job to people in third-world countries and interns, suddenly terminate contracts without advance notice, take employees on business trips during which he displays touristy obnoxiousness and learns nothing from trade shows, and encourage plagiar- ahem, “borrowing ideas.” This man does not care about your time or dignity, only the value you can create for his embarrassing projects, which have been in development limbo for years and show no signs of significant improvement. Of course, he will blame all the problems on employees instead of admitting that his ideas are fundamentally flawed and poorly researched. 2: The shoddy copycat projects and the horrible organization/management: do not expect to do any revolutionary or even unique work here. Very little, if any, of it will be appropriate to put in your portfolio, as almost every project is a poorly-made duplication of a pre-existing program, website, app, etc. Expect constant “urgent” emails and expect to do the work of 2 or 3 people by yourself because the boss doesn’t understand how the creative industry works. Expect to be accused of not doing enough anyway. In my year here, I have seen many skilled and hardworking employees leave because of the aforementioned reasons. Do not work here if you intend to advance your creative career. If you want the paycheque, prepare for possibly the most frustrating, ignorant boss you will ever meet.
