Pros

Across the board, management recognizes special talents and skills and gives one the space to use them. It appreciates a broad range of experience, nationalities, opions and backgrounds. That's what makes it s bubbling place to work. Eastman is an ethical, respectful company which trusts its people's judgement. It lets us to use our judgement and conscience to do what we believe is right, rather than prescribing all the steps as some employers do. We are encouraged to keep learning new things, and there are plenty of training opportunities within the company.

Cons

The various divisions are, well, divided. With all the talent and knowledge we have within Eastman, we could gain so much by working across organisations! We're often too bureaucratic, much of which comes from Kingsport. While meant to reduce risks, it slows us down where we can't afford to be slow. This has an impact both on employees and customers.

Pros

Friendly, helpful colleagues. Vast variety of opportunities for engineers, especially younger ones. Actively supporting the communities where we live and work. Recent changes in management have restored positive outlook.

Cons

A lot of eggs are in the circular-economy basket rather than having the risk more evenly distributed among our product streams. We've lost a lot of talent recently to other businesses, partly because of unhappiness with former management but partly because of pay. Annual pay increases exist but have not even come close to keeping up with inflation.
