Pros
Catered food, outlandish gifts at Christmas time, quarterly bonuses, parties.
Cons
A single benefactor at a single client kept us in business. The owner rejected all attempts at branching out and attracting more clients. Project budgets were kept from the project stakeholders. Expectations were never clearly enunciated on any project. It almost like we were billing for vapor. Bonuses were promised then withheld, and extraordinarily large bonuses were given randomly. Most of the profits of the company were directed into a team of internal not assigned to any client project presumably to produce software programs for commercial release. There were more developers working on internal projects which didn't generate any revenue, didn't have a single subscriber, user or interested party, but yet consumed the bulk of the company's resources. Also, the software developed was never shown outside of the group. Not even to other internal teams. The owner was always hiding the fact that he was a practicing medical doctor from both his clients and his staff at EPE. I left the company 1 month before they abruptly lost their benefactor and closed the doors.
