Pros

Schedule can be flexible depending on department. Leadership continues to make time for “listening” to issues. Gain a lot of experience for outreach and public speaking. Great place to start the search for resources to teach and train yourself and clients.

Cons

Leadership has a difficult time training their employees and understanding their roles. It often felt as if the primary purpose of our jobs were not as important as office politics or showboating well-off individuals and institutions. Many people work jobs like these to actually help communities and people in need, but it seems they would prefer spending resources and time on people and establishments who have a significant amount of resources already. If u ask the low-income residents and areas, they would state that they do not trust or want to work with this company.

Pros

I made some legitimate long term friendships at this agency.

Cons

If you are seeking a company that genuinely values employees, encourages creativity, and fosters inclusion, this organization may not meet those expectations. During the hiring process, the company presents itself as being committed to service, work-life balance, and an inclusive environment where employee input is respected. However, the reality appears to differ significantly from this image. The workplace culture relies heavily on corporate messaging and can feel insular. Management lacks integrity at every level and is consistently dishonest with employees. Decision-making often occurs behind closed doors, with limited transparency and communication provided to staff. Employees frequently receive insufficient support in their roles. While the organization promotes the phrase “Show Up, Smile, and Support,” the underlying expectation can feel more aligned with compliance than open dialogue. Efforts to advocate for oneself, colleagues, or workplace safety concerns may be perceived negatively. Although the company states a mission of helping those in need, internal systems and processes can make it difficult to effectively achieve that goal. Prospective employees are encouraged to carefully evaluate whether this environment aligns with their expectations before accepting a position.
