Pros
One of the major things that attracted me to EDSI is the workplace culture and values: Show Up, Smile and Support! These are not merely words plastered on the walls of our office spaces. Since my start date, I have seen these values embodied by my co-workers and especially the leaders as I strive to live out these values myself. I came in as a Team Lead overseeing three programs, learned a lot about managing people, team dynamics and 360-degree leadership but realized after my first year, I would be better suited for my current role as Community Outreach & Engagement Specialist. I received tremendous support from our Talent Team who assisted me as I thought through making my decision. My direct report supervisor, Assistant Director, Director of Programs and Regional Director of Operations are remarkable individuals and great servant leaders. I appreciate the down-to-earth communication and relational connection of EDSI’s CEO Kevin Schnieders. I guess you can say the Apples don't fall to far from the tree! I’m grateful for the more recent support and high impact advice from Kevin Watson who is helping me to improve my serve in the company. I enjoy the work-life balance and benefits offered at EDSI. EDSI is a non-toxic great place to work for and certainly one I would recommend to friends and family seeking employment!
Cons
I do not have any downsides to working for the company. I have one minor observation, it does seem like EDSI hiring process for vetting quality candidates takes a while, but I assume this is to be expected since management is seeking candidates who are a great fit.
