EDB has legitimate enterprise technology, deep Postgres expertise and a strong foundation. The new platform has strong value for database modernization projects. There are many talented professionals in sales, support and professional services who care deeply about customer outcomes. The install and strategic sales teams operate professionally and are well positioned to capitalize on growth opportunities.

Cons

The net-new sales motion is still maturing. Expectations are ambitious and assume a level of repeatability that has not yet fully materialized across the net-new organization. As a result, execution can feel challenging as the model continues to evolve.

Pros

- Access to several great sales tools and platforms - Decent pay - EDB is well respected in the Postgres community - Working to innovate quickly

Cons

- Most of the leadership lacks technical data expertise which creates friction in the sales motions and positioning. - Currently a small total addressable market. EDB does not compete well with cloud competitors and primarily is geared towards on-prem Postgres in a market that continues to migrate to the cloud. - High turnover across the sales org. - Long, difficult sales motion accompanied by expectations for quick wins.
