Pros
Good place for entry/junior level employees to gain some corporate experience with a company that has regional brand equity. Pay can be decent IF you negotiate well up front, OR if management believes you are thinking of leaving the company (this is well known and talked about among younger employees). Benefits are pretty generous. There's opportunity for advancement if you advocate for yourself.
Cons
Most of senior leadership has been there for decades, and many have never worked anywhere else. New and different ideas are often seen as a threat, and the culture is not welcoming to experienced, professional outsiders. There is little to no support or training from management, and you'll be penalized for seeking help (even from colleagues). Everything you say or do can and will be used against you at some point. There is no accountability and very little communication about expectations. There will be surprises on your review (and that should never happen). Pay and incentive structure laid out in the offer letter may or may not be honored. Beware that the language is slippery and will be manipulated to benefit the company.
