Pros

Reasonable pay and benefits package.

Cons

I hired into the Detroit office and although I had been warned about ongoing dysfunction, things seemed okay at first. Then they went through a clumsy layoff process and shuffled all the teams. PMs dragged their feet for a couple years trying to come up with a roadmap, leaving dev teams to just sort of figure things out on their own. The VP talked about mending the rift between the Austrian and American divisions, but he never actually did anything. The Austrian side had lots of resources and much attention given to creating standards and practices and tooling and libraries, but with little to no sharing or collaboration with the Detroit office, which they would then treat with disdain for not doing things "the right way", I had a someone once tell me that it wouldn't surprise them if the corporate strategy was to just ignore the Detroit office until it finally withered and died. That's a pretty good characterization of what it felt like while I was there. The folks who had been there awhile just seemed beaten and resigned, afraid to lose their paycheck but otherwise woefully unfulfilled. We attracted a lot of really talented people, but it didn't take long for most of them to get neglected or disrespected and they jumped ship for better opportunities. I honestly wish I hadn't accepted their offer.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry you feel this way. As a fast growing, global organization, it is integral that we join together to collaborate and foster innovation to achieve our common vision of creating a world where software works perfectly. With the connection of teams being one of the various steps towards building an even stronger global mindset, we are investing in internal initiatives as well as training and tools to improve cross-department and cross-regional exchange and collaboration. As you pointed out, a big part of this mindset and putting this into practice lies in the hands of leadership, which we continuously train and develop to be able to tackle the challenges that come with dispersed teams in different time zones. Your feedback has been shared with our R&D leadership and People & Culture leaders. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

Decent Product Great Perks Co-Workers

Cons

A lot of what happens to your career is beyond your control. You can be a top performer and still only meet satisfied in remarks. The customer success departments went through some changes earlier this year and it left it splintered. A lot of toxic environments take place in pockets and everyone is cliqued up. I suppose you could say this is like every corporation, but this was junior varsity level office politics. If you made someone upset you could be next. Most of the executive leadership and brings in their buddies who have no idea how the product works and all of the veterans have left by now. It's mostly a game of grab behind and brown nosing.
