Pros

Reimbursement for mileage If you get a supervisor who is willing to work with you, great. If not, goodl uck!

Cons

Since the training, I have seen constant inconsistencies within this company. You ask questions, you get stared at funny becuase you want clarification. If you ask about disciplinary actions for those not working their shifts, you are told they happen, but it never happens. But there are three thing to remember if you want to work here and trust me you will see them clearly: 1.) Always understaffed with very little help 2.) Your complaints will be met with stares 3.) Good luck trying to reach people to help you transport when you have plans unless you are tight with your co-workers. Now listen to the word: UNLESS An individual that I had to transport to his bus stop tried to force me to the ground while groping me, yet I am told I have to keep transporting this person since they can't seem to find anyone else that could do this shift other than me! My husband wasn't happy about that and has been hanging around the bus stop site while staying out of sight to make sure it doesn't happen again. What I'm trying to get supervisors to understand is that we took vows, and one of those were to love and protect the other and that is all he was/is doing was looking out for me after that individual attacked me. I was able to fight him off, but that still left me shaken. The pay is not very high, but it adds up, but not my main complaint. The main complaint is, instead of hiring more people since they have these two week training, you're the "lucky" one they go to do most of the work becuase new staff either quit or are not showing up to do their jobs. Today I couldn't go into work becuase I am still getting over the flu, but one of the consumer's parents didn't want to hear that becuase sick or dead, you're supposed to do your job to keep them happy. Bottom line, I'm leaving this job at the end of this month. While I have done with job before in the school system, I have never done it to this strenuous extent before. I've never felt so tired in my life, but there is a first time for everything. Good luck for whoever comes in behind me. Prepare to do someone else's job becuase they are too lazy to hire more staff or plain want you to do everything!

Pros

The clients are great and the best part about the job.

Cons

Management and Training Deficiencies Ineffective Leadership: On-site management consistently fails to engage in direct training or oversight. Supervisory duties are frequently abdicated to senior staff members who lack formal training authority, leading to inconsistent onboarding. Lack of Professional Development: Management is unresponsive to internal mobility requests and fails to honor promised compensation structures. Pay increases are routinely delayed or ignored, requiring excessive self-advocacy from staff. Hostile Work Environment: There is a culture of verbal discouragement and professional "berating," particularly when staff members address exhaustion or request standard time off. Operational and Clinical Mismanagement Medication Errors: There is a recurring pattern of medication mismanagement. Rather than addressing systemic flaws, management shifts culpability onto individual staff members when discrepancies are reported. Neglect of Client Care: Management has repeatedly declined to seek necessary medical intervention for clients (e.g., insomnia treatments), leading to unsafe conditions for both the client and the staff member on duty. Dishonest Reporting: Documentation regarding client activities and milestones is frequently falsified or significantly embellished, misrepresenting the actual quality of care provided. Ethical Violations and Safety Concerns Unsafe Behavioral Interventions: I witnessed multiple instances of staff using inappropriate and unauthorized redirection methods, including the use of spray bottles and unnecessary physical force. Inadequate Emergency Support: During overnight crises, administrative guidance was negligent. I was once advised to leave a distressed client outside at 1:00 AM rather than receiving actionable assistance. Retaliatory Conduct: Following my resignation, management engaged in unprofessional behavior by contacting me via personal social media platforms to deliver threats regarding future employability.
