Pros

The product is good and continuing to improve.

Cons

Enterprise management is a messy snake pit of politics and incompetence. Less than 5% of enterprise reps are at or over quota in any given year of the last 5. The compensation plan is the worst in the industry, both in structure (incomprehensible) and earnings. It has continued to decline each and every year. DocuSign has had to raise base salaries to $150k and at-plan to $300k + non-recoverable draw for 6 months and 15k-20k stock options just to get anyone to work here during the past year after the previous mass quittings. As you can see by the replies of DocuSign to every slightly critical review on this site, DocuSign cares more about arguing with people than fixing their own problems. This is a churn-and-burn shop. Work-life balance is nonexistent for any rep who gets past 50% of their quota, and in 2015, that was fewer than 1/4 of all reps. Run, run, run to you next interview...DocuSign's executives are. DocuSign has lost their CEO, founder, and Chief Legal officer in just the past few months. The much-advertised IPO is further away than ever with our executives and sales managers (3 gone in 2015) leaving this sinking ship. DocuSign enterprise sales resumes are flooding the market right now.

We hope you landed in a great place and wish you well. Sorry to hear your experience was sub-par. I have great faith in Dan Springer our new CEO and Scott Olrich our new CSO/CMO and Joan Burke our new Chief People Officer.. They have brought in a lot of fresh ideas and focus and transparency that has re-energized the team.

Pros

Mostly nice people, dedicated to their specific roles.

Cons

Lack of team cohesion among departments. Lots of communication and accountability breakdowns, siloed efforts. Immature processes and undeveloped operations. Unqualified and ineffective leadership: I was to be the Business Process Lead but mid-interview, the hiring manager told me they would instead place me in a very small sub-department reporting into Finance Business Transformation. It was never clear if this was meant to be temporary or permanent... I was successful in facilitating and contributing to a project that was 10+ years overdue at Docusign. The managing director I reported to was laid off so a more tenured employee took over as "manager" who had never been in charge of people and it showed. Despite my contributions, I was told how little they valued my work and efforts on a successful project. Definitely a level disparity as I have been Sr. Finance Manager twice and head of a global department reporting into VP level and up. It appeared that all this new "manager" wanted was a subservient cog to condescend, demotivate, and talk down to. Beyond ridiculous to squander my 15 years of corporate experience.
