The people in guest services were clearly dedicated to their jobs and it was clear that they tried hard to make their staffs’ experiences were positive

They care more about making money than actually educating the public Close to 1k field trip kids in a >150,000 sq. ft. facility on a daily basis Exec level is stingy with resources - departments were constantly “making it work” and scraping by with minimal support Outdated exhibits and events More resources went into special events (for donors and VPs) than into building/exhibit maintenance Does not invest in their staff The most stressful place I have ever worked Does not celebrate inclusivity, both internally or in a guest facing capacity Exec level constantly asking so much of middle management with little support or guidance, it is clear they have no understanding of the actual operations of the museum from a logistical standpoint
