Pros

Medical benefits are pretty decent

Cons

- The member service guides are considered the heart of Devoted, yet they have decreased the starting pay rate for the position by approx $ 2.00 an hour in just a years time. They choose a month to, “celebrate guides” and during that month a few win raffles. Guides are celebrated daily via memes in a Slack channel . Attendance policy is quite strict and outdated compared to other companies. You’re written up if you exceed 40 hrs unplanned time in a 6 month period or go over accrued hours- even if you have the hours available by years end. Most companies allow use of PTO before accrual and if terminated prior to accrual, you would have to pay it back. This policy resulted in an excellent scoring coworker I trained with being terminated last week. She had Covid twice in a year , a vacay and a family emergency- and to keep from a write up would have had to skip previously planned PTO. I trained with her and I know we make the same rate of pay, which is higher than current hire rate of pay. I saw her metrix. She was a very hard worker who had some unexpected things happen. “Life happens” , right Devoted? During slower days in the summer they, “offer” us guides to take PTO and leave early as if it’s a gift. Wouldn’t letting high performing guides leave early, with pay, be a better way to recognize their work than a random water bottle or meme? Instead, you’re paid to sit strapped to a headset with minimal calls. I am one of many who no longer feels secure in my position. It’s a weekly paycheck for now. The members are great. But this job can burn you out fast. T-shirts , mugs and slack memes do not refuel. This company needs to revise some policies . For now they’ve decreased the starting pay and over time they will see they are getting what they pay for. Folks who have amazing people skills will use them elsewhere where it’s appreciated. Devoted could retain valuable employees but they are opting for what they believe is lower cost. In the long run, the cost of constant training of new hires will catch up, as will the lack of quality care they won’t pay for. The starting pay for this job is that of many retail stores . Save yourself the stress and be a cashier. And if you are looking for remote work there are many positions with less stress and burnout at the same rate of pay.

Devoted Health Response

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review and express your feelings about working as a Member Service Guide here at Devoted. We are pleased to hear you have experienced good things with our medical benefits offerings. We regret to hear that your overall experience it seems, has been less than optimal. We are sorry to hear of your perception and experience with our pay structure. We currently offer fair market pay for the entry level role in Member Service Guide, along with a competitive bonus program which offers quarterly rewards and increases as Guides get promoted to upward levels or tiers. This is an important topic for us at Devoted and would love to hear more from you on this. Additionally, we are sorry to hear that aspects of our engagement program did not seem helpful to you. Contests, raffles, awards, swag, and two Guide engagement slack channels make up just one part of a comprehensive program we designed to build our community and positive and supportive culture. We designed and implemented these programs per the feedback we received from the Guide team via surveys. To help Guides “refuel,” we offer a stress reduction program that now incorporates both live and recorded classes and exercises. We’ve learned that 97% of class attendees agreed that the classes help them with their role and increased ease within their role. This program, along with our Lyra Benefit and the Calm App, are available to Member Service Guides at any time. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us meaningful feedback in a variety of areas. As noted, we take our internal culture seriously and take strides to ensure our employees are heard, respected, and trusted. We recognize that all perspectives are different and we would like to welcome the opportunity to continue the conversation. If you’d like to do so, please reach out to Senior Director, Michelle Mulcahy - mmulcahy@devoted.com

Pros

Competitive pay, benefits and great hours. Lots of commission potential

Cons

The favoritism within the sales department is insane. Some of their 'top sellers' are just bullies to the clients, and will hang up on plan changes (since we don't get paid for them outside of AEP)it seems like they let them get away with it because they get sales.
