Pros
I think the best pro I could give in regards to Design Squid is the company culture that radiates throughout the team. I don't think there is one day I dont wake up, smell the roses, and are exited to take on the day's challenges. Like my statement above, you've got to enjoy the self-motivating lifestyle. Design Squid is heavy on the work but if you are comfortable plugging in your headphones and efficiently creating original work for some high class clients then you wouldn't have a problem here. The mood is light, the meetings are worthy, and the coffee is plentiful. Keep in mind that although the schedule might be loose, you've got to understand your limits and work at your full potential. It's easy to sometimes get carried away on an exiting new module or graphic for a clients website and completely shut out the rest of the clients that are waiting for your work, so its all about being organized and down to earth. The rule is that if the clients are happy then the squid is happy, so its up to us to kick butt, take names and suit up when need be.
Cons
The biggest con goes against the cubicle worker. If you're a robot drone smashing keys from 9-5 and expect the same routine from last week then Design Squid is not for you. This can be a huge con because its hard to get accustomed to creating, maintaining, and executing your own schedule. This can be hard at first but once you get your feet wet, swimming with the rest of the sharks becomes so much easier.
