Pros

Unfortunately, this was the worst healthcare job I have ever had.

Cons

Working as a midlevel provider at DermCare Management was an experience I had hoped would be rewarding and fulfilling. However, my time in that role turned out to be quite the opposite. I write this review to shed light on the challenges I faced, the lack of support I encountered, and the overall disheartening environment that characterized my tenure. From the outset, it was evident that the working conditions were subpar. The workload was consistently overwhelming, with schedules stacked to the brim (patients double booked whilst poorly staffed), leaving little time to call patients back, and answer messages. I often worked through my lunch. Patients complained to me about the practice often that the call center was awful and they couldn't reach me for urgent matters. Despite voicing concerns about the workload and concern for patient safety, there was minimal effort from management to address the issue or provide additional support. Instead, it seemed as though productivity and monetary gains was prioritized over patient well-being and provider satisfaction. Moreover, the lack of support extended beyond just the workload. As a midlevel provider, I expected to have access to resources and guidance to enhance my skills and knowledge. However, any attempts to seek continuing medical education or professional development were met with patronizing attitudes and discouragement. It was disheartening to feel undervalued and dismissed for wanting to improve my abilities and provide better care for patients. My disappointments was further compounded by the realization that my patient visits were incorrectly billed, meaning that I did not receive any production bonuses for the hard work I performed. This lack of recognition and financial compensation only added to the frustration and sense of undervaluation. Moreover, when I had the opportunity to meet the CEO Jeff, rather than asking how I am doing, addressing my concerns, or asking what can be done to improve the working conditions he boasted about his wealth and success. This encounter served as a stark reminder of the disconnect between management and the frontline staff. It is extremely sad to see how corporate medicine has become. Healthcare has evolved from a primarily patient-focused profession to a more business-oriented industry and DermCare clearly models this transformation. However, despite the demoralizing experience, I eventually moved on to a new Dermatology office that reignited my passion for medicine. Here, I am actually able to see a higher volume of patients because I love my job again, and I have the support for it. The supportive environment, fair compensation for my work, emphasis on professional development, and genuine concern for the well-being of staff rejuvenated my love for the field. Yet, even as I thrive in my new role, I still think back to my time at DermCare Management and the demoralizing effects it had on me. It serves as a reminder of the importance of supportive leadership and a positive work culture in ensuring the well-being and success of healthcare providers. In conclusion, my experience as a midlevel provider at DermCare Management was deeply disappointing. The lack of support, poor working conditions, patronizing attitudes towards professional development, and lack of recognition for my contributions created a toxic environment that ultimately led to my decision to seek employment elsewhere. I hope that by sharing my experience, it will prompt reflection and positive change within the organization, ensuring that future providers are treated with the respect and support they deserve.

Pros

Nothing except my wonderful colleagues.

Cons

I am a past employee from the finance department. The CFO leadership has created one of the most toxic workplace cultures I have experienced. Employees in both the field and within his department are emotionally exhausted, undervalued, and operating in an environment where morale continues to deteriorate. Rather than fostering trust, collaboration, and support, the culture is driven by fear, poor communication, and a lack of empathy for the people who keep the organization running. Many employees feel depleted and disengaged, not because they lack dedication, but because leadership fails to recognize the human impact of his decisions and lack of morals. A CFO should help build a healthy, sustainable organization. Unfortunately, the leadership style demonstrated here has had the opposite effect, contributing to burnout, low morale, and an unhealthy work environment. I hope the company takes these concerns seriously and prioritizes cultural change before more talented employees are lost.
