Pros

- CEO is an incredible asset to the company; is upfront, honest, willing to listen to employees, regardless of title or role. - Strong desire to hire people whom are like minded, and passionate about the mission of saving lives! - Unfaltering commitment to only hiring individuals that align with the company culture and values. - As long as you do meet the personality requirements, the people that you work with every day are amazing, with very few exceptions.

Cons

- I won't speak to what other groups are paid, but the monetary compensation for engineers is far, far below current market standards. - Benefits leave a lot to be desired. It's a near industry standard within high tech these days to have unlimited time off, but you won't find it here. Health, dental, life etc are also lacking in comparison to what you'll find elsewhere. - If you work remotely, be prepared to feel as though you're an outsider on the team; the only exceptions are those who have years of experience working for the company. - Communication issues abound; don't expect that you'll ever have any clue what's going on with any group that isn't the one you're a member of. - Particular members in middle management roles inability to comprehend technical requirements and the power and authority and autonomy to continue the cliques that are already existing within the development team, encouraging unattainable expectations without any recourse. - C-level executives are, with very few exceptions, all members of the Schmidt family, either by blood or by marriage, which leaves a clear line in the sand regarding career growth opportunities. (If you're not a blood relation or married to a Schmidt, don't expect to get a C-level role) - Although the values do include "tackling problems head on", the reality is: your concerns will be heard, and promptly ignored, as no action will ever be taken to fix the problems that have been identified, or even engage in any further follow-up. - Performance is valued above all other things; it doesn't matter if going slower initially will result in being able to move much faster later, the only way to be successful is to be willing to commit to releasing brittle code that barely works and is validated by inexperienced testers and riddle with technical debt because "The fast eat the slow", and "tomorrow" is both when we'll solve the technical debt, in addition to being the day that never actually comes.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and share your employee experience. There’s a lot here that doesn’t lend itself to effectively address via this avenue. But in the spirit of ensuring you’ve been heard and sharing how we continue to grow and develop ourselves everyday, we want to offer a few comments. We encourage all employees to address concerns directly and quickly. After discussing with the person the issue is directly with or can most directly help, if it is still not resolved, we ask employees to “roll it uphill” for assistance. That can start with a manager or HR and go on up all the way to the CEO. We have avenues such as COO and CEO talks available for any employee to have time with our leaders to discuss anything.. We definitely heard from employees that more/better communication from other departments was needed to be informed in their roles. We responded to that feedback with the addition of a company wide intranet, a quarterly leadership summit for the cascading of information to leaders, the addition of communication specific roles, as well as other department specific efforts. In terms of compensation, we do an annual market review of our compensation and benefits which includes comparisons to employers in similar industry, size, and geography. As a result of this year’s review, several changes were made, and we are confident we are offering a competitive total rewards package that includes a value proposition far beyond base pay. We are not a high tech company, therefore we can not offer what Google and other tech giants may have to offer. And that’s okay, if that along with what it means to work at those organizations is better aligned to what you value. We want people to choose Delta Defense because of so much more. We will continue to assess our organization and strive to improve with the support and assistance of our employees. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. I work at the headquarters and it’s wonderful! I have worked at a few companies and there is a night and day difference - Work life balance is great - Wonderful coworkers - Great work/team building outings - Leadership invests in professional development - Lots of opportunities to be in West Bend, all paid for by Delta - Delta is very picky with who is hired to ensure everyone fits the culture - Everyone is super kind and easy to get along with. Also, everyone is very skilled - C suite is very open and honest. Company wide meetings every week that allow everyone to be informed on what is happening. - Benefits are amazing: yearly stipend, generous pto (no problems using it), hybrid or wfh options, good health insurance, USCCA membership, good pay - The dress code is very casual - Paid time off to volunteer! Plus donation matching - The owners are VERY generous

Cons

- The hours can get long some days - Very open floor plan at HQ. This can be a pro or con depending on preferences - The CEO isn’t super involved in day to day operations - Not a con to me, but you must be supportive of the second amendment and feel comfortable around firearms. - If you are someone who likes to do the bare minimum, this probably isn’t the place for you - You will need to pass the culture test and write a values essay. Again, there is a high standard for hiring.

Pros

Good culture at corporate level

Cons

No support or culture at the local level- pretty much on your own. No Back up. Be prepared to work 7 days a week at all hours of the day or night.

We are always evolving in how we support our Sales team, including dedicated leaders in each geographic region and stronger local coverage, so team members are supported. We also want to clarify that we pay based on national pay markets, and that Sales roles include uncapped performance-based commission. Thank you for your time with us.
