My personal experience working here for less than a year as the only non-white person in this company had its experiences. I was very happy to have been offered this job but I was doomed from the start. My on site manager was not supportive, and despite me being told I was doing everything right, it turned out that this was just a facade for them to wait until the end of probation before removing you. Of course there were the conversations regarding little complaints made from staff external from the company but because of having a contract there, your voice was not heard when explaining such a trivial complaint. It was acted like it was heard and you were told all of the ‘we support you’ and the ‘they are known for this’ and let’s not forget the ‘just talk to us and we will sort things out’ when in fact these were only just words. The company itself does a lot for the armed forces community, however the bad press from these ‘complaints’ were completely blown out of proportion resulting in getting rid of somebody rather than listening to them. I barely had a relationship with my manager as he would leave me to do the extra work of attending daily meetings and visiting patients daily as well as updating the systems of this. When myself and him were supposed to be in on the same day I was either told that he would ‘work from home’ or that he had a lot to do. The workload was thrown on me and despite raising needing another person, this never happened whilst I was there. I was thrown into the deep end from the start and despite being told I was being listened to there was none of that. Constantly looking over my shoulder about trivial complaints meant keeping it ever so professional but still, this failed me. Good luck if you work here, you’ll need it.
