Pros

When I imagined my ideal place to work, it included so many of the things I've found at Deep Sky: a tight-knit family of employees who cooperate with and trust one another, the autonomy and independence to work within my personal style and strengths, and an inclusive leader who invites new ideas and encourages both individual and holistic growth. I've been here 6 years and have no plans to be elsewhere. Deep Sky is an amazing place to contribute my energy and my time. I am proud to support and be a part of this ever-evolving, rapidly-growing studio that started in my hometown by an awesome human being (boss man Jared). I'm surrounded by incredibly talented, kind and cooperative artists with the flexibility and willingness to solve problems quickly and help us move continually forward...I can't wait to see what our future brings!

Cons

Occasional, temporary "growing pains" that get resolved quickly

Pros

Last month I was going through a life changing period of time. My son was diagnosed with High-risk Neuroblastoma cancer and had to spend two weeks at the hospital and at home as a caregiver/parent. These combinations + work made it really hard to stay concentrated and get projects done. I like to believe that the heart of a studio is defined by how it responds to complicated situations with its artists. Since the day I was brought on, I was welcomed with grace and enthusiasm from the studio and has shown me what a true family-oriented culture is all about. Not only does the studio encourage you to learn/strengthen your skills and abilities, they are supportive during burnouts, personal time and understand that everybody adapts/learns differently. This is a fast-paced studio and you will run into challenges with projects but one thing is for sure, you will have a lot of room to grow as an artist; your feet will never touch the ground.

Cons

This is not so much a con as it is a challenge, projects are often times very fast-paced and you will have to put on your "adapting" brain to learn about a project you know nothing about within a short period of time. Luckily, producers do a fantastic job of getting artists up to speed and comfortable for the takeover of the project.

Pros

I'm a newer addition to the Deep Sky team but feel like I have been here for years with how fast I have become close to my fellow coworkers and how valued I am by my management team. I have never stayed at a job for more than 2 years, just to switch things up, and this is the first time I've felt instantly that this is a place I'd like to set roots down and grow with a team. This studio is filled with amazingly talented and incredibly genuine people. It's a great environment to create, experiment, strive, thrive, and build skills. The work ranges across the board and no day/project is ever the same (well, except our bread and butter projects, but we still find ways to keep it fresh). It's always interesting and we're always in it together and I cannot wait to see all the amazing things we're all going to build together.

Cons

No unique cons here, just the usual production gripes!
