Pros
Great exposure to the entertainment industry, opportunities to move up are likely, overall very friendly people. Everyone wears cool sneakers. Huge names walking through doors everyday.
Pictures of DJ Skee everywhere (if you're a fan of DJ Skee?)
Really great opportunities to do on-air checks, meet with radio personalities, etc.
Cons
Dash Radio doesn't intend to take advantage of their interns, but they somehow end up doing it anyways.
I only worked with Dash as an intern for 3 days and had to spend 2 hours cleaning every single day. I washed dishes, wiped down tables, vacuumed, made fancy lemon water for guests. This in turn, gives employees an excuse not to clean up after themselves. General workload is tedious, not beneficial at all-- task from beginning to end is research 10000 labels and attach them to songs.
Amount of interns hired out number actual employees who work with Dash Radio. Everything is hectic. Interns required to take on their own substantive work load, no one leading the way. If interns do not go out of the way and approach someone to give them real radio broadcast work-- they are not benefitting.
I really wanted to like this place, it seemed like such a vibrant office. However, most workers are young. Too young to provide the right mentorship. The higher up officials don't have much interaction other than small talk and the daily, "hello."
