Pros
The offices are based in a central location. Flexibility is very good. Ability to work from home.
Cons
There are so many issues. Management is absolutely terrible. The firm is in more debt than any other law firm in the country. They are delusional has to how DWF is perceived by clients, other law firms and the wider public. The firm continues to buy smaller firms with the aim to ‘gut them’. The culture is aggressive, unsupportive and many will sadly say it is ‘hostile’. The pay and perks are also average. Drop the northern mentality. You are a London law firm. Stop banging on about IT awards and improve your internal IT. Losing excellent senior partners and frankly bullying them out. Too many paralegals. The road to promotion or achieving a ‘bonus’ (ha) is not transparent. The goal posts are constantly changed. The managing partner is not in touch with reality. The targets increase every year. Lack of care on providing the best service levels and actually being good lawyers. Performance reviews down graded at the last minute to avoid having to pay a wage increase or a nominal bonus. Departments are not collegiate. Stop asking people to contribute for their Christmas dinner. Start treating your employees with respect!
