Pros
good pay, learn a skill, good benefits, work with knowledgeable people, good supervisors and upper management. This job can be very rewarding but you must make it to the end to truly reap the benefits.
Cons
being an apprentice can hard, dirty work, pole climbing, being berated by journeymen is never fun. my advice to future apprentices is, keep your mouth closed and work hard everyday. If you're not a "good ol boy", be prepared to work even harder, you mistakes will be magnified while "others" good unnoticed. Don't get me wrong, most of the guys are good people that want you to learn. but even in 2015 there are those that feel that you don't belong there or you took their nephews job. Even though you've passed all the tests, climbed all of the poles and background checks, you'll still have to prove yourself daily.
