Pros
Large R&D department with start-up-like opportunities. Management will try to keep you happy and moving between teams is possible. If you have an idea or want to improve something, you will get the opportunity to defend it and work on it. Actual VFX research done in-house. Exciting projects. Most people are great individuals to work with. Modern programming techniques and collaboration workflows in place.
Cons
Decision process can be messy at times - if you're inexperienced it can be difficult to know who to talk to or what are the overarching goals, but you still must take responsibility for your decisions. On the software side some legacy baggage that is hard to throw off and can be frustrating at times (improving rapidly).
